Posture at your computer

Do a quick check!

Reduce computer related aches and pains by following these simple guidelines.

Are your feet flat on the floor?

Are your hips, knees, and elbows at a 90 degree angle or a little wider?

Do you have good back support so you can relax into the chair while

you work?

Is your monitor directly in front of you with the top of the screen at or

below eye level so that your neck is not twisted and you can tuck your

chin back slightly?

When using your computer controls, are your upper arms relaxed down at your side, the elbows bent to about 90 degrees or wider, the wrist flattened?

We are spending more time than ever on our computers - don't allow that computer (set up) to become a pain in your neck!

Stretching and flexibility

This is one component of three components of a good fitness program, but it seems to be the one that most people neglect.

Proper stretching allows your muscles to warm up before exercise and cool down after exercise.  Don't forget this valuable fitness component.

Hold your stretches for a minimum of 10 seconds to maintain range of motion.  Increase your stretch time to increase your range of motion.

You'll feel better and be glad you spent         that little bit of extra time.
